GFLTC/GFLUG at WWYM Road Show. (November 17, 2003)

By: Robin Werner of GFLTC

Wow, that was a great event and it was a blast! The 20 city event "LEGO® What Will You Make" Road Show made its last stop in St. Petersburg, Florida. We had a 9 x 9 foot club layout with a running train line, three working railroad crossings and much more. Check out the pictures from the event on BrickShelf.com.

Festival of the Masters at LIC Orlando. (November 17, 2003)

By: KK Quah of GFLUG

We had a blast doing this and I want to thank Lenny for partnering up with me on this great castle display. The Japanese castle is based on Himeji Castle in its full glory and with some kuruwa (outworks) and a large gate house. The European castle is based on the 3CS and wall sections were about evenly split between Lenny and I, but the entire inside works was done by Lenny. It had a large amount of wonderful detail and housing including the Dragon dung shop, the forestmen band, the medieval dentist, vendors, smithy, etc. All great detail work by Lenny. The samurai army consisted of 154 men including all the castle house guards and Lenny's army and townspeople numbered about 160 (about 20 from my collection) so a sizable army was presented for viewing. Check out the pictures from the display by KK Quah BrickShelf.com and more pictures by Robin W BrickShelf.com.

GFLTC at GATS Ft Myers. (October 23, 2003)

By: Robin Werner of GFLTC

The Greater Florida LEGO® Train Club had a display at the Great American Train Show in Fort Myers, Florida last weekend (October 18-19, 2003). But before you view the picture keep one thing in mind, none of the other GFLTC members could make this show. Yes that's right, this was a one man show by Robin Werner... And the people with GATS were glad that I made it, since the other two large local clubs backed out in the last minute. So, the GFLTC display was the only large layout at the show. Check out the pictures from the show on BrickShelf.com.

By: Robin Werner of GFLTC

The Great American Train Show (GATS) is not able to provide us space for a layout. So, there will not be a GFLTC display at the 2003 Orlando show, if you were looking forward to seeing us and are disappointed, please feel free to contact the Great American Train Show at GATS.com.

Lost Images Found! (June 19, 2003)

By: Robin Werner of GFLTC

After nearly three years, I have located some images of the GFLTC display at the Great American Train Show (GATS) in Orlando, Florida. I found them when I was surfing Brickshelf.com and I came across the images in Doug Glasnapp directory. The October 2000 display was just before Halloween and featured a ghost train and the new LEGO Direct pumpkins. Mark and I had a great time at the show and met Doug Glasnapp a fellow Adult Fan of LEGO (AFoL) at large in the Orlando area. So check out the formerly lost images and more by clicking here.

SER NMRA Train Show Report. (May 20, 2003)

By: Robin Werner of GFLTC

Wow, what was great fun displaying with the NGLTC and MSLTC! These guys are really into LEGO® Trains, just like us. The layout looked super with the large main train loop and all them local loops. After hours was great fun too with good eats at Cheeseburger Cheeseburger and The Mellow Mushroom. See the images of the display on BrickShelf.com...

Great American Train Show Report. (February 28, 2003)

By: Robin Werner of GFLTC

Another super display at the Great American Train Show (GATS) at a new location! The Pinellas Expo Center in St. Petersburg, Florida was a great venue for this event, we hope they return next year to this site. But lets hope they pick a weekend without a gun show or other show. The gun show and train show tandem was more the them the parking lot could handle and a lot of people never make it in. See the images of the display on BrickShelf.com...
